ha ha Rowan and Barbe your two my new heros. LOL
I would go for the flat look too LOL I cannot imagine not being a 42DD. Although I have had to go to the second notch on my bras and even my support one.
I met with the ocologist that manage my cbc levels and medications yesterday. The oncologist that manage my meds and the radiation oncologist are right across the foyer from one another. I am sooo lucky WOW. Anyway, she understood my reasoning behind my no radiation decision but said to make sure I keep with my surgeon about all this so I would not come up with some new re-occurrance and miss it. I most definately will.
ON Sept 20th I meet with my surgeon regarding the radiation he ordered. He will not be a happy camper either.
I am wondering if I decide to get a mastectomy if my surgeon would be able to get it past through the cobra insurance? I did not understand too much of my options and the results of each before I said I will take a lumpectomy. Saying that, I will talk with him about it next week. I do want to keep that in the back of my mind to do if that is possible. But I want no radiation either.
At this point whether or not a later mastectomy is a choice I feel I am doing the right thing.
Thank you ladies yeah. I feel so much better each day.
The one thing I did ask the oncologist yesterday was the nutrition. I said out of all this not one has mention nutrition. She told me the number one is to loose some weight because I am heavy breasted and then told me to go for more greens and meats with no hormones etc. I am slowly loosing weight and have lost 10pounds since May but need to step up the weight loss a bit more.
Any thoughts?

cyclepath, i agree too. thank you for responding. What is the name of the table you laid on do you know?
-
pil, I don't know about the table, but the IORT machine used on me was the Zeiss Intrabeam.
-
pil, 10 POUNDS!!!!!!! That is HUGE!!! Good for you! I've GAINED about 20 in the last little while, but I know some of it is water and some of it is bowel. Still, I feel like a cow and hate pictures of myself. I look okay standing up, but as soon as I sit down, I fill up the whole chair!
-
oh ha ha your not the only one who feels like a cow sitting down. 165pd on Tuesday morning and the next day at 2pm I weighed 172. Now how can I hold 7pds of crap. LOL The girl weighing me in said the machine may need calibrating. Sometimes it gets off kilter and reads aren't always true weight.
Doc put me on Anastrozole to try it instead of Aromasin. I have many sweats on Aromasin and bone hurts. This tells me the estrogen in my bones are being blocked. That really worries me because I already have osteropenia in my back and left femur.
WHat I cannot understand is why do I take 25mgs of Aromasin and 1 mg of Anastrozole a day. I really don't understand this.
I compared my cbc from June to September and they read different. Any idea whats normal and what's not?

June 6.19 6.79
Sept 5.54 6.57

I just weighed in at 212. I cannot believe it!!! I eat an excellent diet and the nutritionist confirmed it. She even told me to add more breads!! Water weighs a TON!! I have had to do a couple of 24-hour urine tests where you have to contain your urine in a big orange container. It's friggin' HEAVY when you have to take it back!!!
Your blood work doesn't look alarming to me. What have you researched and found out?
-
Hey Pil and Barbe, I gained about 10lbs during chemo. Since BMX I have gone back to being vegetarian (started eating meat again during chemo as thought I probably needed the extra iron etc). I am now down to 140lbs, so slowly getting there!! I am used to using kilograms as measurement, so am about 65kilos at the mo. Want to get back to around 60kilos. Walking 4km every day, and hope to keep this up! Also changed my diet to include more salad and vegetables. Really hard to manage diet with 4 children and husband who eat EVERYTHING!
-
Rowan, I eat mostly salads, yoghurts and a few of the fruits. I eat only a bit of meat and use eggs for protein. I was told I needed to add breads! I don't like bread so use raisin bread as toast. That's nice. It was suggested I switch to rye bread instead.
I can't walk 4 miles, but I do try to move. I have a lot of skeletal problems with movements and am often bedridden. That is why I eat so little. I KNOW I don't need more! I'm even on a one-touch monitoring my blood levels which I seem to have under control. I have no idea what more I can do!
-
Barbe, you eat healthier than I do! Yes, you are right. You are doing all the right things re food. What a bugger that you have mobility problems. Hope you have a lovely 50inch tv screen in your bedroom!! I find that helps if I need to take a rest! You have a lot to deal with, I know. but you are such a positive and bright lady. Love reading your posts!

Thanks Rowan, I don't have a TV in the bedroom. That means I have to get up and go downstairs! There's method to my madness....
