Just got my score today and it was a 48! That is a 32% chance of recurrence.I was expecting a high score but OMG! Everywhere else I look people are getting really low scores. Did anyone else get a score this high? I had already resigned myself to the fact that I would be doing Chemo but now we have a date.  I start TC on Sept 15.  At least we have a plan now. We can finally get started.

Sheypress....sorry your Oncotype score was so high...but like you said now you have your game plan. I did 4 rounds of TC...very doable. My worst side effect was the fatigue but you just have to learn to rest when your body tells you its time. Also, i went to chemocare.com and National Cancer Institute  where I downloaded nutritional guids during treatment and found very helpful hints. Also, make sure you get lots of pre-chemo meds for nausea or benadryl in case of allergic reaction to Taxotere. I took decadron, benadrly, aloxi and EMEND (which is amazing) to ward off nausea. I never felt or got sick throughout chemo. Also, make sure you get lots and lots of protein during treatment to keep up RBC counts.

Good luck with treatment...hang in there!

My score was 17 but I still did chemo based on some other things in my pathology and my age.  I did taxotere and cytoxan for 4 cycles.  It was very doable.  I was able to take care of my son - get up and get him off to school every morning.  I also exercised 5 days a week through chemo.  I hope you are side effect free and it goes quickly for you.  Read the chemo boards as they offer so much information on how to combat side effects.  Good luck!

I never had the oncotype test but I had a mammaprint test because of the study I am on.  My mammaprint said that my risk of recurrence is "high" without chemo so there was no question that I would receive it.

My tumor is 3.9 cm so I am having chemo first to shrink it before surgery.  Regardless of my test score, the size of my tumor alone was a good indicator that I needed chemo.  I guess the good news is that I can watch that sucker shrink and know that the chemo is working.  Isn't it sad that I consider that to be good news?
