    Thank you so much for this article! As someone new to the supporting role, it was totally helpful. I'm trying to be an outlet for them to talk to, but it's hard since I really can't relate. Do I cry with them? Do I try to make them laugh? Do I just sit and listen?

    ele8740 - In answer to your questions..... All of the above. Just being there and wanting to help is supportive. Remember that there is also life outside of cancer and we need to be a part of that also.
