clips placed in breast for radiation therapy

just read my surgeons report stating 5 clips were placed in my breast during lumpectomy at 12,3,6,9 and deep in breast for radiation therapy. anybody else have these, i wasn't told they were going to do this,what are they made of,are they there for the duration,will they remove them? gosh dang it one more thing to worry about!

Hello belle!  It's common to have titanium clips placed during biopsy.  I had 2 placed during biopsy and at least one is still there after lumpectomy.  I've never heard of placing them during lumpectomy, but it would make sense it would help with alignment of the radiation beam. I think they are permanent. I've never felt mine, so try not to worry.
