Hi all,

I'm finding that daytime garments just aren't working well these days for me,and that aim wearing my nighttime tribute garment much of the day. However, I am limited in what I can do by the oven mitt hand. I notice that jovipak has a new daytime garment that has a fingered glove. Here's the link

Has anyone tried it? More generally, for people who have used both solaris's and jovipak's custom garments, what's your take on the two? How well does jovipak's slimline garments work on fibrosis and how does it compare with their regular line? Ks

Ps have been typing this wearing tribute and am about to throw my keyboard across the room

KS1, never tried it, but I do have a jovipak and a solaris, and find the jovi is sewn more finely, yet didn't compress my fingers enough--but, I got a brochure from them after the NLN conference, and it said that all jovipaks are meant to be "liners" and worn with a jovi-jacket or short stretch bandage.

When I was first diagnosed with LE, I spoke to Jovipak directly and kind of on my own, ordered an open fingered glove to the elbow. It wasn't quite enough for my fingers, and then I saw a LE therapist who had me wrap, but ultimately got me a Solaris. The Solaris was so-so for the hand, and I pushed for another Jovipak--open fingered glove, but to the axilla this time, and really only wore it a couple of times, and then I broke my hand. So, long story, but it's been 10 months since I broke my hand, and I'm ready for the occasional night garment break here. I would try the jovipak with the jacket. I don't wear any compression over the Solaris.

I did see the new day time product--they showed JoAnn Rovig wearing it while she played the piano. The hand piece/box glove was developed by an OT who now works with them.

I have previously called them, and spoken directly to JoAnn and they're quite receptive on the phone. It might be a good solution for you. I suggest you call JoviPak and talk to someone there about your needs.

I can't type with a Solaris on, my fingertips are hidden....

Thanks Kira. my fingers are also hidden in my current tribute. I just got measured for a new tribute and the hand is being made with a curve that follows the curve of my fingertips and my fingertips will be seen. I'm hoping this will allow me to use my fingers. I kind of which I had known about the new movipak before I ordered the tribute. But, if the new jovipak is billed to insurance as a DAY garment,in theory, I get 2 day garments every 4-6 months ....
