chris------sorry to hear you have to go thru this again. Most likely IF it is anything more serious (DCIS or invasive bc), it will be caught early due to your close monitoring (I have to beleive that as well, I've been doing this for 8 years now!). Even with an LCIS diagnosis, you can still have other microcals that end  up benign.  Praying you get good results soon. Let us know.

I had suspicious calcs post-classic LCIS diagnosis, had a core biopsy and they were benign.

In this 2007 paper by Port et all, in the non-MRI screened group with Atypia or LCIS,

For the 196 patients who did not undergo MRI screening, 22 biopsies were performed in 21/196 (11%) total patients with either LCIS or atypia based on physical examination or mammogram findings. Cancer was found in 8/22 (36%) biopsies in seven patients (one with bilateral). A significantly larger number of patients who underwent MRI screening required biopsy compared with the non-MRI- screened group (46/182 vs. 21/196; P = 0.0002) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17206485

Awb is right: in this paper, none of the cancers found in either the MRI (5 patients) or non-MRI (7 patients) screened patients was worse that stage II.  This is out of 126 patients with ADH/ALH and 252 with LCIS, over  about 6 years.  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17206485

Hoping you get boringly benign!! The odds are definitely in your favor. Let us know how it goes, OK?

Hi Chris. Sorry for your stress. I have had calcs after being diagnosed with PLCIS and had benign results.  Hang in there.

I wish you only the best.  I also have chosen monitoring with mammograms alternating with mri's yearly since an lcis diagnosis in 2008.  It is very possible the calcifications are benign and I think with close monitoring if there is a problem, it will be an early one.  I share your concerns and those of others who write and support eachother.  I really value this forum and find it comforting.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.
