Cincinnati area
Anyone living in the Cincinnati, N.KY area interested in lunch on Sat. Aug. 27th? So far I think about 5 of us are going to get together most likely somewhere in Kenwood....we are flexible as to where, but can't do it too late in the day as some of the women have family plans later in the afternoon. Maggiano's and lst Watch have been suggested. This is rather impromptu, but several of us have been talking about it for a long time and everyone has been busy this summer so we just decided to do it and see who all might be able to come. I am hoping to get to meet some of you in person. All ages, all stages, welcome. Marybe

So far it is KarenVA, Pattih, ksingO, and lilylady and I think two are going to bring someone else from the threads.
-
I can't wait. Maggiano's sounds great!
-
Then if it is nice, we can eat in the patio area.
-
I think Hoovegirl82 will be joining us too
-
I look forward to this, just tell me where and when!!
-
I'm right in your neighborhood! My little guys and gals have soccer all weekend so I won't be able to join you, but would be interested if another get together is planned. Talking with other survivors is so powerful! Have fun

Hoovergirl, Sat. at say around 11:30 at Maggiano's in the Kenwood Mall. I think so far there are about 9 of us. Tammy , will keep you informed as to when the next time is.
-
OK, made the reservation for 11:30 on Sat. I told the woman outside if it is nice....they have a round table in the patio area that will seat 9.....but if it is beastly hot we will just stay inside.
-
Hey Cinci gals!!!!! I haven't been on here for years! I was active on YSC until that fell apart and then a lot of us moved to facebook and now we are here. I hope you guys have a great lunch tomorrow and I would love to meet up with you guys in the future.
Looking forward to getting to know you!
-
2kidmom, you are more than welcome when we do it again.....or if you can possibly make it tomorrow even it it's not at 11:30, feel free to join us. I don't have an exact count, but think there are going to be nine....pretty good for a last minute plan. I was amazed at all the women in the Cincy and even found a few who go to the same onco I see.
-
OK, Ladies, here we are in all our glory after a very satisfying meal. Maggiano's is one place you never leave hungry. Sorry that the chandelier got in the way and the prism is right in the middle of Karen's forehead. It was so nice to get to meet you all and we have to plan our next one ahead so possibly the ones who missed today can make it also.

nice photo. I am glad I went.

Beautiful Ladies! So sorry I missed it. I caught a virus from the kiddos and had a very bad day with it.... Sorry
-
Glad you ladies had a great time and I hope I can meet with you the next time you get together....anyone planning on doing the Komen walk?? I am a team captain for Team TaTas-we had 19 local survivors and 165 members last year.....would love to you join us this year. Our team is open to all!!! We just want a cure!!! You can check out our blog at www.teamtatas.wordpress.com Looking forward to getting to know you!

Hi ladies, I'm not quite in the Cincy area, but I live in OH as well, kind of central OH. Just wanted to say hi!
-
Hello Melinda, You are so young to be dealing with this, but I met some women yesterday at lunch who started with this cancer deal at an early age also. I was 40 when lst diagnosed. So you are a Buckeye, eh? Where in OH?....my best friend from childhood lives in Hilliard right outside of Columbus and I know the Columbus area pretty well due to college and football games.
-
Hi Melinda!! Funny to see you here!! Melinda and I are friends and get together once in a while in Dayton for lunch! We are always looking for more local ladies! She even became a member of Team TaTas last year and came down to the Cinci walk last September and is planning to come again!!!! She is a young one but she has helped so many other young women on this journey - she gives 100% of herself - a great friend - one of those blessings in this crazy cancer journey!

Hi marybe! I'm kind of central ohio in anna ohio to be exact, about 2 hours away from cincy. I find it hard to find many people in this area at all for get to gathers.
But 2kidmom is awesome! Like she said we get together every once in a while. Joining her team for the race is awesome! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, I can't wait for this years! -
Hello Ladies: I missed the gathering in August. I live in the Cincinnati area and would love to be part of the group. Just finished my radiation in September and praying and counting down the days for reconstruction. Thanks, Teresa

Teresa, I just got back from being on vacation yesterday, but as soon as things settle down,(who knows when that will be since my husband just called to tell me that my father rammed into the back of another car on the way home from here....he is 89 and has no business driving, but try to tell him that....maybe now he will agree) maybe we can set up another get together. I think early Nov might work best for me since I have a cont ed class coming up on the 22nd and a wedding on the 29th....but the wedding is in the evening so lunch on the 29th would probably work...or maybe even the 15th. I honestly have not even unpacked yet and know I need to catch up on stuff around here as well as get scans scheduled.
We had a very nice turnout last time considering it was sort of spur of the moment....weekends seemed to work best for most of us which is why I was just naming some Saturdays coming up. I hopefully will not be wearing a headwrap this time since my bald spots are filling in....with get this, BLACK hair!!....eyebrows have always been black, but never on my head before.
Everyone feel free to chime in with dates that work for you. Marybe

Hi Ladies - Another friend on the boards suggested I chirp in. I live near Dayton. Even though Im still in my surgeries and recoveries, I managed to do the Woo-Man ride for BC awareness in Central Ohio in September - Nearly 52 miles on a bike! Melinda - the route I did was in Mansfield - are you near there? the name of the ride was because the routes were in Wooster and Mansfield. I thought that was cute!
Anyway, Saying hello. I didnt think there were any members from around here!
-
Hey ladies...how is everyone doing? Nice to see some new ladies drop in....not a great reason to be here but hope we can all meet someday. I have been going nuts working on my last Komen fundraiser for this year....we call it Bunco for Boobies.....it's next Saturday in Maineville.....if anyone is interested you can find info on our blog www.teamtatas.wordpress.com
We still have some openings and of course I would love to have more survivors there!!!! Did anyone make it to the Komen walk or plan on attending Making Strides this weekend???? How about The Scar Project exhibit last weekend....I went on Sunday and have to say it was incredible!!!!
-
I am trying to find out when we can get together for lunch again and maybe some of the ones who could not join us last time, will be able to this time. I had asked a few of you about Oct 15, since that works for me, but just checked on the blog 2kidsmom has on her post and her bunco party is that evening so maybe there is another day that is better. I will not be around ont he 22nd and have a wedding to go to on the 29th, but for that matter it doesn't even have to be a Sat. Check your calendars and let me know. Since a few of you are closer to Dayton, we could maybe go a bit further North this time.

Hello!
My weekends this month are gone between work and a family weekend away too. But I am also available during the week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) if that comes to it. I would be great to meet everyone!
I'm one of those that is closer to Dayton...how many of you are absolutely loving this weather we are having???
-
This weather is incredible! Wish it would last. After my fundraiser this weekend my time will free up for a while.....until we start traveling for cheer competitions for my daughter. I could definetely do West Chester or something on the north side.....I guess I am kind of in the middle so either way works for me!!! How do weekends look for other gals? Weeknights???
-
There were actually only two who would have been able to do it this weekend, so let's work on a date later on....maybe in Nov? Hope everyone has a nice weekend.....weather is supposed to be nice.
-
Hi everyone!
I just heard tonight that Gina (Hoovergirl82) is very sick and may not make it through the weekend. Her stepdaughter is friends with my daughter, and she called to say they were heading up north to be with her (she has been up in Canton with her family). Please keep her in your prayers.

This is terrible. I only met her that one day at lunch and I went back to check and she had sent me one PM after we had that get together and was heading to Vegas and hoping to have a good time before starting more chemo. For those of you who did not meet her, she is in the pink bandanna.
Thank you so much for letting us know, Karen. Marybe

Bump. Say your prayers for Hoovergirl.
