Kinesio tape - all stuck up
Well sisters I'm a bit down tonight, saw my LE nurse and although I have been doing everything right my measurements have got worse since last time. I'm not borderline anymore. I am just finished a patch test with a square of pink/brown kinesio-tape, no skin reaction so that's going to be my next line of treatment.
Is there a video anywhere of what they actually do with the tape? Thanks.

Hymil, we have some great photos from LindaLou on the stepupspeakout site

That really rots about the measurements--but it is summer. But it stinks when you're a good compliant person and this stupid LE doesn't respond.

Hymil...so sorry. It seems that the ways of LE are rather STUPID at times. Like when our arms swell up and we've been doing everything right. Makes me soooo mad.
You will get it under control - but I know that overwhelmed feeling. Hang in there.
Regarding the tape, I use a book (after many training sessions with my LE therapist) that really helps me. I got it off amazon. I'll look up the title when I get home and post it for you - it's super.

Thank you both, that's a big help. It's truly annoying when you have done everything you could and it still gets worse... but at least I haven't been neglectful and now blaming myself; The difference in sun-exposure (my freckle-research) speaks for itself.
It was quite funny when I got home with the patch-test and DD says, Oh No, mum, what have you done to your other arm, Did you have to give blood? She hates needles! Will go and look at Linda-Lou's pcs now

For those who have used/are using kinesiotape, I need some advice!
My LE seems to be worse when I wear day garments than when I don't, so my LE TX is doing a trial of just kinesiotape (+ Tribute night garment 12-15 hours a day). It's been a couple of weeks and, with the exception of my pinky, my hand and forearm look pretty good, but my upper arm is achy and maybe is a bit puffier. My taping is very simple -- one solid piece anchored at the antecubital going around (thumb side) and covering the back of the hand, and another solid piece anchored at the acromion process of the shoulder wrapping around in front to end 4" below my elbow on the ulnar side.
Now for my questions
1) if you tape your arm, what is the layout of your taping?
2) On the stepup/stepout site, the kinesiotape is cut into a fan. Do you do fan the tape and, if so, do you find it more effective than a solid strip?
3) Any suggestions on how to improve the pinky? I tried a thin strip of kinesiotape anchored on the kinesiotape on the back of the hand, but it came off in a matter of an hour.
4) Do you have any tricks on how to get a night garment on and off without pulling off the tape? I am curving the edges of the tape and this helps, but it still pulls up.
5) I have been using small pieces of kinesiotape to tack down the edges of the kinesiotape when it starts peeling off. Does this seem reasonable?
If you have ANY suggestions, I'm all ears. When I see my LE therapist in a few weeks, I want to go in informed. Thanks, KS1
