inverted nipples after lump

it has been a year and I got a clean bill of health.. but the doc noticed that my nipple where the surgery was, is inverted or indented.. my cancer was small but the incision site has always been tender and the doc mentioned that internally my tissue was still dramtically different... so i dont know whether to be concerned or not.. i did call the doc's nurse...
funny my nipples were never strongly physical.... but the left is definitely indented.. so with a clean bill of health, i am nervous.
