I'm confused.   Some tell me NOT to eat Avocados and others tell me it very beneficial.

Which is correct?  Can I eat Avocados??

DeeCee, When I saw your question I decided to see what I could find about avacado's. Here is what I found which seems to agree with what you have heard to not eat them.

    Hi there,

Avocados are high in fat, which is why it is recommended that you avoid them.  However, you do need some fat in your diet, so if that is one of your few sources of fat, then I think it is OK.  My only fat comes from avocados, olive oil, and nuts.  I don't eat any dairy or meat.  So I don't worry about avocados.  However, if you are trying to lose weight or you are eating butter, etc., then you probably want to lay off the avocados.

I love avocados. Since I don't use butter, don't eat meat and use only olive oil and non-fat milk I don't stay away from them.
