my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer last month and had the lump removed,also had the lymphnodes removed from under the left arm.She has now been told she has to have a ct scan,i have read information on this which has worried me as i dont think my mum has understood the reasons why she has to have it,csn someone tell me why this has to be done and should we be worried about it.

    It is for staging, to make sure that the cancer hasn't spread anywhere else in her body. This is standard procedure for determining if you are stage I, II, etc...

    Thankyou for clearing that up for me.I feel a little better knowing that it is standard practice.My mum is being sooooo strong through all of this and feels we should not be worried but  she is my mum and im not coping too well at all so talking to people who have been or are going through this aweful thing helps tremendously.Many thanks.
