Fallen Bladder

Options

Hi,

I have a new thing going on.  Once a year I go to my gyn for a pap, he is a new doctor for me.  I have been using him for 3 years.  Each year he comments about my fallen bladder.  This year he had a really hard time getting to my cervix.  He is saying I should have this fixed.  I don't leak urine  and have mild symtoms.  I want to ask my gp about it and go to someone else for a second opinion.

Any words of advise?

Yes, ask your GP, and get a second opinion before any surgery that you are not sure is necessary!

I would recommend you go to your GP as well. It is best to  get a 2nd opinion especially if you are not sure. You know your body better than anyone else. Wish you the best!

Desny, I'm chiming in on the advice of a second opinion. You might want to go to another gyn for it, though, because some GPs will just second any recommendations from specialists.

Meanwhile, you could try doing Kegel exercises. These are exercises to strenghthen your pelvic floor muscles by squeezing them. If you're not sure how to do them, try stopping & starting the flow of urine - that's the exercise. You could also google it; I'm sure you'd find info on it.

    Best of luck.

Thank you for responding.  I will get a reference name from my gp for a another gyn for a second opinion.  And Leah_S - I am starting to do the kegel exercises!  What a great idea.  I could use them to strenghten everything up!

I almost put this under Hormonal Therapy.  I know that the lack of estrogen is another cause for the female organs to lose their strength.  I have been on Arimidex since Jan, 2008, only 1 year and 4 months to go.  I asked if I need to stay on it longer.  My onoc said no since I was node neg.  Whew!

    Thank you all again.
