My best friends mom

I came on board under not diagnosed but worried because of a biopsy I had for a tumor that was found to be a solitary B9 papilloma.  Anyway, at the same time, my best friends mom found a lump and the biopsy staged her IDC stage 1.  Then after surgery, she needed to be restaged and was to have a cat scan yesterday, a bone scan and ultrasound next Tuesday and an appt. with the surgeon the following Friday.

Well, my friend called me in tears today to tell me that the scan showed gross involvement of  lymph nodes and mets to the liver. And, the tumor is much bigger then first thought.  Her mom has other health issues that makes this news so devastating.  They have to do a new protocol with aggressive chemo, 3 wks on, 2 off and a liver biopsy.

I feel like words are useless right now and don't carry much weight in comfort.  The unfairness of our taking different roads in regards to diagnosis outcome for her mom and I is very hard to take.  Wouldn't we all want to change *something* to make it better or just to be able to make it go away.

As I said in (not diagnosed), I think the best thing I can do right now is listen.
