I have had five cycles of Abraxane weekly 3 weeks on one off. My only SEs have been low platelets. Have had to have two dose reductions because of low platelets. My hair (lost on AC) is growing back on Abraxane.

I have been working full time on Abraxane and actually drive myself to work on chemo day after infusion. It's a fast infusion where it takes longer to mix the chemo than to infuse it.

Everyone is individual with SEs but I hope you don't have any bad ones.

I had 22 treatments of abraxane/avastin and it was the worst of the chemos I did so far as SEs but I seemed to have all of them and even a few not on the list.  My nails have still not gotten back to normal and I have problems with my eyelashes and have to have the ones that grow in toward my eye plucked out every few weeks (but I have been told this is not a normal side effect at all) and it's been a little over two years now since I quit.  However, I will say it was one of the few chemos I have been on that actually worked for me....took my CA 27.29 way down and shrunk all of my tumors.  Also, my experience with it just seemed to be exceptionally bad and I know of others who did not have many SEs at all.  There was a woman at the office I go to and she was on it for years and she did not lose her hair, did not have funky nails and tolerated it very well.  So that just shows how different we all are. I am Stage lV so with me all treatments are indefinitely and that means I stay on them until we determine they aren't working or in the abraxane case until I can no longer handle the side effects.  If you were going to be on it for 4,6, or however many treatments, the SEs might not be as bad since as with most chemos they are cumulative.  Don't let my experience scare you off as I am sure you will hear from others who did not have such a rough time with it.
