Tumor cell blood test

I saw my onc yesterday and she did a new blood test, she said it was fairly new and it's not a tumor marker test. It checks for circulating tumor cells in the blood and helps us determine a chance of reoccurence. Now the waiting begins....anyone else done or heard of this?
