Hi, I read that tumor marker CA125 is a blood test used to assess cancer in the body. I just wonder, as long as there is a range does the reading of low in between or close to maz makes any differences in the reading of it. My oncologist whom I believe is fair, and good and keen when did my tumor marker it fell into the range but a bit near to the max. But still he said it is OK as long as in range. But my radiologist whom I see very agressive in dealing with this issue, believes NO, it is not a good indication regardless if it falls between ranges cause it does not tell anything. and she said even if it tells your marker is near to the end of range!!!

What do I get out of this, and whom do I trust.

So many of the docs disagree on tumor markers so it is hard to know what to believe.  My onc uses them every time but I've read on these boards about women whose markers never go up and they get mets anyway.  As always if you are uncomfortable about what your doc is telling you then by all means seek a second opinion.  And if you have symptoms that last two or more weeks then get them checked out too.

I pray you find peace in the answers to the questions you seek.  Namaste'.
