Member List sortable by column?
1) With the 100,000th member approaching, it would be nice to be able to sort the member list by column as many forums offer. So for instance one could sort by the "Member Since" column to see the recent members, or by "Recent Activity" to see those who have posted most recently. I see there are only around 1 to 3 members who have posted this year on each page of 50 members. That's only 2000 to 6,000 members who have posted this year.
2) Also it would be good if we could move forwards or backwards by say 10 pages so as to move more quickly through large threads or the nearly 2000 page member list.
3) I imagine it's fairly safe to remove those members who were last seen the same day they registered, never posted and a year has passed. These "members" are not even lurkers. Or make it 2 years to be safer. If they want to return they can always register again or read without signing in. Obviously anyone who has posted should remain a member unless they are spammers or banned for breaking the rules.

Joy, good to see you back !!!
Also, I've read someone expressing sorrow at seeing someone who had passed still on the members' list. -
JoyLiesWithin, thanks for your suggestions!
1) Many members here at BCO never venture into the discussion boards or chat rooms; they join up to access the information on the main site, to receive the Research News, and never go to the Community features. We can certainly add Sort by Column to the wish list though!
2) There is an easy way to jump ahead or back to a specific page in the big threads. Take the "Hair Hair Hair" thread in the Chemotherapy category, currently at 344 pages. The URL for the last page is http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/69/topic/707348?page=344 and if you wanted to go back 10 pages, you'd just change the 344 at the end of the URL in your address bar to 334, and you'd be at page 334.
3) As we work through the process of getting to one-member-one-name, there may be some deletions, but as in 1), there are many members who use the main BCO site without posting to the boards.

1) I hope others want this too. I wonder who has the most posts and the most topics? But this could be bitter sweet if they are no longer with us, as Luan mentioned. I liked the idea of putting our angels into an archived list so people can still access their details without the shock of stumbling on to their names.
2) Why didn't I think of that? Thanks, that will help when I want to move around a large thread.
3) Members who use the site without posting would show in the "Last Seen" column if they log in. It was just a thought, to better represent the number of members. I can just hear the celebrations when the 100,000 number is reached, yet many don't come back after registering. I often wonder if you keep statistics on these things.
Luan, I'm just looking in, I should be out visiting my MIL in hospital but woke up with a cold. She doesn't need a cold on top of her surgery. I so wish I could be there with my family.

Sorry to hear about your cold, take your vit. C now

I would love to be able to sort by State! I was trying to reach out to members in NH and MA for a get-together and couldn't find a good way to get a list. I was willing to check out the last time they had been seen before sending out my message, but searching for people was really hard and I know missed people. And I know some people don't provide that much information, but I would take whatever I could get.
