Hair regrowth during weekly Taxol
I've completed 4 x AC at 3 week intervals. I lost most of hair 15-20 days after my first AC and then buzzed the rest.
I've started weekly Taxol and completed 3/12 treatments.
I seem to be regrowing hair!! Is that normal? I have a colourless fuzz over my head and its growing every day ... I'm checking every morning as I'm so excited.
Is this normal? Will it continue to grow or will it fall out again?
Can I start taking hair growth vitamins like Biotin while still doing chemo or is this a big no-no?

What do you reckon ladies? I'm obsessing.

Hi Kiwimum,
I lost my hair during my a/c treatments too and my onc said that my hair would grow back while I'm on taxol and she is right! My hair is growing back, when I take my wig off I can see my hair is pushed down. It's also a colorless fuzz and I'm considering dying it. This week, my onc took me off taxol (there's a shortage here in the United States. she said) and put me on Taxotere and they also said my wouldn't fall out. I'm excited, finally.
I was told not to take any type of vitamins at all while in treatment.
Good luck to you,
Min

I started growing fuzz while on taxol also..it never fell out but I lost all remaining brows and lashes on taxol..even more a few weeks after completion..it seems to be fairly common to have some regrowth whilemon taxol

My brows are hanging in there. My lashes are very sparse and look a bit like this ..!.!..!!....!..
I keep putting mascara on them to try and give them volume - lol
Yay to no more hair falling out Min.

KiwiMum......one of the lasting benefits of chemo is really getting savvy with eye makeup techniques.
I invested in a fab liner for Taxol. Fooled the best of them.
All grew back in good time. However, the eye makeup savvy remains
I colored the "pelt of deceased rodent" as soon as at the micron stage. When asked if my hair color changed, I say "no, it's the same shade of Feria that it was prior to BC". End of story.
Good news is that longer than in my pic, so things are looking up 15 months PFC. - Claire

I start abraxane in 2 weeks, so 4 weeks after my last ac. I hope I get some hair growth! Someone mentioned on another thread that they had hair growth on weekly abraxane! Please keep us posted on your hair growth, as it is something to look forward to!

Yes Claire - good tip on the eye liner. I have been wearing more and more as the lashes disappear.
LOVE the "pelt of a deceased rodent" description!! -
My hair fell out completely on AC. It started regrowing 3 weeks after my last AC and here I am 11 weeks into 12 weekly taxol. Eyelashes and eyebrows have fallen out. It is possible that it will regrow during taxol though. Everyone at the cancer center comments that I have a lot of hair!
