Followup with surgeon post-lumpectomy

First off, my results from my excisional biopsy were B9 -- such relief!!  I was mentally preparing myself for a real 'problem', but got great news instead!  Path report says florid ductal hyperplasia, stromal fibrosis, apocrine metaplasia, columnar cell change and ductal dilatation.  ALL of which are B9.

However, I want to encourage everyone to always get copies of their path reports and keep/take them with you when you go to appts.  When my husband and I first got to surgeon he started out by saying that they found a tiny area of DCIS (1.6 mm) in the biopsy.  Three years ago is when I had a prior incident of DCIS and a lumpectomy that had 1.6 mm found.  I had only lumpectomy and no further treatment of any kind which is why I had been mentally preparing myself for another 'problem' this time.  Anyhow I thought it rather ironic that it would be exactly 1.6 mm again!  I told doctor I had copy of my three years ago path report with me and showed him where it had said the 1.6 mm and he gave us a funny look and then double checked what he had in my chart and said he was very embarassed that his nurse had pulled up the OLD path report!  He left exam room to go retrieve correct one and I was much happier when he walked in with one that said all benign conditions and no carcinoma identified!  BUT, had I NOT had my old path report with me, I'm not sure it would have been caught . .. at least not at yesterday's appt.  Surely they would have caught it at some point, and I do like this breast surgeon and his bedside manner and all, but it would have been nice had he looked at the report DATE which clearly said 2008 on it.

He was super apologetic and has recently gotten a new nurse who I guess made the mistake, and he said he was very sorry to cause even five minutes of anxiety to a patient, so all's well that ends well, but my advice is always have copies of your reports.  I hope to never have an issue again, but will be extra careful with all my results from here on out!
