When do you call the doctor?

I'm having some pain in the breast that had surgery - my appt isn't until October. What pain is normal - what pain isn't? I'm having trouble sorting out whether this is any different, or if, because a friend was just diagnosed, I'm all of a sudden noticing things more and anxious. 

Any guidelines you go by?

Sta .. I think it would depend on the severity of the pain.  It's normal to have some residual pain in the breast from nerves regenerating and scar tissue forming.

It's been four years since my lumpectomy and my breast is still tender.  The doctor has told me it's scar tissue.

If the pain is severe, I would call the doctor and not wait until October.
