Best Toronto PS for TE & implant delayed recon
Hello out there. I really want to have recon. Its been 12 years, and now I need to find a qualified PS. I have had consults with Dr. Musgrave at St. Mikes, anyone out there have any experiences with her? Or any reccomendations for me? I just really want the most qualified PS there is in the Toronto area.
XOXO Thanks so much!

Perrier -- Since no one has responded, I thought I'd suggest that you go to the University of Toronto Division of Plastic Surgery website: uoftplasticsurgery.ca You can email PlasticsAdmin@utoronto.ca and ask for advice as to who specializes in what, but the website itself will show you all the plastics docs who hold teaching positions at U of T (yes, including Dr. Musgrave!). Those people would be my first choice!
I have heard wonderful things about Drs. Semple, Brown, Zhong, Hofer and Lipa.
If you want further credentials, go to cpso.ca (College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario).
Hope this helps! But even better would be posters' own experiences.

Thank you so much! I read a few reviews on "rate your MD" and was a little freaked out..by the negative reviews. I hope some others will post about their experiences..I'm scared, but so ready..I just thought today..what ever happens it can't be any worse than living the past 12 years like this. I wish I could see pictures, of these Dr's work, but not sure how to go about that either. I'm pretty slim, with no rads, so from what I've read I think I might be a good candidate.

Usually when you have a consultation, the doc will be happy to show you several photos of his/her work, with pride!

Just had delayed recon with Dr. Sarah Wong. So far I'm very impressed!! Placed TE last night and was very pleased with the care at the Scarsborough General.

Toronto is improving for recon. Sunnybrook has just opened a breast reconstruction centre with Dr. joan Lipa and Dr. Snell. They are doing the latest techniques. Joan is lovely - I had my consult this week. She was in LA for the past few years so I'm glad she has returned
Toronto General (university Health Network) has also opened a recon clinic - Dr. Toni Zhong and Dr Stefan Hoffer. They also have a top notch facility. Dr Wong is also great - I met her as well
Women's College also has a good recon program - Dr Mitchell Brown and Dr. Brett Beber (Dr Zhong's husband). They specialize in tram flap and latimmus dorsi - not doing DIEP as far as I know.
They work cooperatively - in fact I saw Dr. Brown first (very nice) and he told me that his procedure was not best for me and he sent me to see Dr. Zhong Things are much better now in Toronto but it's quite recent. Anyone of these doctors would be good -
Thank you for all of your replies! Now for my next question...How long will I need to recover before I can go back to work after TE's are placed? I am a single Mom, and self employed as well.

Perrier -- You might have better luck posting your question about recovery on one of the topics in the Breast Reconstruction forum.
