Insurance changing ps coverage during reconstruction

Options

I had a bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders on June 22. I go for my first fill on July 25. I just got a letter from my insurance provider Kaiser Permanente-Georgia today saying they won't be using my plastic surgeon after October of this year. They will will have 2 plastic surgeons on the Kaiser Permanente staff at the location I go to. I am wondering if anyone else has had to change plastic surgeons during their reconstruction? I really like my ps and his staff and am hesitant to change. How long does the reconstruction process usually take? My tissue expanders had 300 cc's put in at surgery. I believe they go to 800 cc's. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would appeal to you insurance asking to continue with your surgeon.  You  might have your ps write an appeal letter as well.  It's worth a shot.  I don't blame you, I wouldn't want to change in the middle either.  NJ
