I was dx with stage II b/c in right breast exactly 2 years ago.  Lumpectomy & radiation.  Also dx with LCIS & DCIS.  Have not been able to tolerate tamoxifen.  Have been on it for approx 6 months over various trials.  Had my mamo this past Monday on both breasts.  Nothing remarkable.  I do have dense tissue & cysts.  I had a follow up with surgeon on Tues. and asked him to drain a cyst in left breast (have had this done on various cysts thru the years).  He stated he could not get any fluid that it was solid.  He said he was able to get some cells and sent that off.  I heard from his office this am that there were no atypical cells and not sign of malignancy.  They were still waiting to talk to dr. about what if anything needs to be done.  I am looking to all of you for your advice as well.  I don't know if he'll say let's wait 3 or 6 months and re-check, remove it or what.  Have any of you experienced anything similar?  TIA for any information.

I am 49 years old, BRCA negative, ER/PR +, no family history of breast cancer.

I had biopsy of my suspicious lump which came back benign.  But my radiologist wasn't convinced and I went ahead with removal, which was IDC.  I was really surprised that they didn't get tissue from the right place, especially since they took 6 samples!

But the only way I think they can really tell is to remove it.
