As many of you have posted I too have some strange pain that I talked to Oncologist about, pain in my lower right abdomen. He sent me for a CT scan of the chest, abdomen and pelvic.  It showed a thickening of the large bowel on the lower right, something on both sides of my pelvis and a small 7mm spot on my lung.  So now I have to have a colonoscopy and see the OB/Gyn for pelvic finding and another CT in 3 months for lung.

He told me not to read anything more into than the findings called for followup action.  He said that when CT scans are done they see things that may be of no consequence but have to followed up on.  I trust this Oncologist as he was my husband doctor 14 years ago when he was fighting lung cancer.  He was good to my, keeping him comfortable until the end,...

Good thing the oncologist prescribe Xanax for me or I surely would suffer great anxiety for a few weeks until I get all my testing done.  I can't even see the Colonoscopy doctor until August 3rd so this will be a long process.

Sorry for the long post but it is nice to be able to express myself to a group that total understands.

    Hi,

I'm sorry you have to wait so long to get some reassurance on this. The waiting is sooooo stressful. Sending hugs your way,

    Karen

Thank you Karen,  So many of us have the same story.  I am trying my best to take the doctors advice and not read anything into, however, when I spoke to my Gyn. to schedule an appointment for the spots detected in my pelvic area he strongly urged me to get a colonoscopy because of large bowel thickening.  He said he was much more concerned about that.  I told him I did have that all scheduled and I see the Gyn in a week for his exam.  Lot's of waiting and in the meantime the pain in my side is getting worse.

Uggg, I was so close to being at the 6 month check-up mark...hopefully after all the test I'll still be there.
