OK, here we go!  Some of us on the "So....what's for dinner?"  thread got to talking about our DH's golfing activities.  We decided we needed a thread for this, so this is it.

 I'll start...

The spring after we moved to Missouri (17 years ago) my DH decided that he wanted to join a country club.  So he did.  Well, actually it was "we" as he signed us up for the couples plan.  Now, I am not a good golfer.  I do like to go out and play, but I've never developed any skill because I usually just play a few times a year.

We've gone on some great golfing trips together - Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach, the Robert Trent Jones Trail in Alabama, and the Doral in Miami Beach.   Oh yes, and he almost always takes his clubs when we go to Hawaii.  OK, so there is pretty much a consistent theme here....I have no problem with him golfing when we are on vacation so long as I'm in a beautiful place, preferably at the ocean or a spectacular pool, or both.

We had talked about moving back to NH last year when I had my first round with BC.  We did a ton of work on our house but didn't actually put it on the market.  And then one day in October, he came home and said he had resigned his golf membership.  Then I knew it was real, that he was serious about moving back, and in early June we moved into a cute little lakehouse in Salem.

We've driven around the area a bit because although I am a Nashua native, I wasn't that familiar with the Salem/Hampstead/Atkinson area.  A couple of weeks ago, at my insistence, we checked out the Atkinson Country Club.  And I guess that's all it took!  Two days in a row, he leaves and says "I'll probably just play 9 holes" but I know the truth.  He can't just play 9 holes if there is enough daylight to play 18 Wink

Golf is his passion, his escape from work, and my BC, and all the other little things that tug at him.  I really don't mind; as a matter of fact, I am glad that he is not afraid to "leave me alone" while he goes out and has a little fun.

I always know where to find him!!!

Michelle
