Please note the moderator post above, that their update is nearly done--I know that neither Binney or me know anything about their update.

But, there's a new blog, on exercise and LE, by a woman who worked on the PAL study with Katie Schmitz, and I go on it--and it shows women lifting without compression!

And the official PAL site contains flagrant misinformation: that weight lifting prevents LE, especially in women with >5 nodes out--this was a tiny subset of women, and the data did not prove this.

So, here is the new and improved LE information from bc.org that we've all been waiting for, and the blog is very concerning to me, as biased and potentially harmful.

Where's the NLN position paper on LE and exercise????

This is the part that scares me: the thread is pinned to the top of our forum, the trainer runs "PALS for Life" based on Schmitz's research and the ONLY mention of LE is:

Find out what lymphedema is and what to look for. The PAL Trial at the University of Pennsylvania has given us evidence-based research that exercise, specifically strength training, is good for women who have and who are at risk for lymphedema.

"Find out what lymphedema is"--that is the extend of the guidance that women are getting from a thread that is pinned to the top of our forum.

MOTC--you're a great example of someone who manages their LE and stays active, but how many women are going to read that blog and learn how to exercise in a way that won't be likely to trigger LE?

We deserve better: we deserve a blog that acknowledges LE, describes the symptoms, and explains how we can strengthen out bodies in a way that minimizes our risk.

Not further promotion of a study that was created to push an agenda of liberating us from our limitations, and allowed it's relative lack of conclusions to be promoted as both a cure (not!) and a powerful preventive measure (also not!)

Remember how lago's doctor came home from the conference, after hearing about the second analysis of the PAL data and told her to weight lift to cure her LE?

This is just another example of that perpetuation of misinformation and misinterpretation of the data.

    Again, we deserve better.
