First, I want to thank you all who take the time to respond to my questions and concerns. It has helped me tremendously and it helps to hear different thoughts, advice, and personal stories.  It's been months since my diagnosis and at times I can't believe that the mastectomy is going to happen.

I will have a unilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction.  As I wait for "The" day to come is there anything I should plan before my surgery?  For example, are there things that I should purchase?  I have this need to prepare and feel in control Smile

It's been two weeks since I decided to go ahead with the mastectomy and I am beginning to feel distraught. For the most part,  I've kept it together part but it's really starting to sink in and it feels overwhelming.  A little over a month ago, I had a lumpectomy with lymph node removal and overall I feel like I've healed nicely but still don't feel 100%.  Before cancer, I use to run and I've started exercising and hope to get back to my old self.  Also, I thought I could get strong and healthy for my upcoming surgery plus it makes me feel good after I exercise.

Your input would be greatly appreciated!
