My wife has been daigonised with multifocal idc ,2lumps of 2.5cm & 2.9 cm she was operated for mrm on 2nd July ,chemotherapy will start from 20th July I am worried ,Plz help about prognosis and survival ,she is just 41 years the tumor cells show pleomorphic neoplastic ductal cells

I am 42 and was just dx on 6/20/11. I have started chemotherapy and will have bilateral mastectomy in 11/11-God willing. Radiation will follow.



Do you know yet whether it is ER or PR +? HER2 positive?

These are important questions for treatment and prognosis.

   Hello Many , so sorry you are on this journey with your wife... I too had multifocal idc had surgery twice did not get clean margins so you should know that can happen... that said I made it thru chemo and rads and last week got a clean mammo one year later and now on arimedex a hormone blocker and herceptin every 3 weeks for a year I was told to get full scans at diagnosis after first surgery showed 17 out of 20 lymph nodes removed...it showed no matstises thank god... I had to request it so I suggest you do that...I was also told from my oncologist I now have a very good chance of cure but a 1 in 4 chance of return....so far so good I wish the best for you and your wife You Can Beat This!!!!
