Hello all,

I finished my chemo a month ago. Yeah!  I had THC, allergic to taxotere then switched to Taxol same reaction(hives, breathing issues, ruined my gut no fruit or veggies). My onc decided to give me gemzar(gemacidabine). Gemzar kicked my butt. I needed a platelet transfusion, IV antibiotic and injections etc. It inflamed my liver. The numbers have come back down but my side still hurts. Did anyone have liver inflammation with chemo? He decided to forgo the next 2 cycles of gemzar for fear it would do some real damage to the liver and the fact that we waited for a month. It sounded like if we continued i would have had to have more cycles because of the delay. Kind of like antibotics you can't start and stop them....

Anyone notice their more sensitive to sweets?

My muga changed from 63%-60% but I guess if its over 50 its doing good. I have herceptin until feb 2012. Taking H by itself is ok. Just tired and a little tummy trouble the first day.

Does anyone get dizzy from all these drugs or is it just me being dehydrated?

Now its on to radiation. My mom being a breast cancer survivor keeps pushing the mastectomy. That's what she had in 1976 at 41. She did not have chemo or rads and she has been fine for 36 years! I wish they were testing for her2 back then. The docs recommended the lumpectomy with rads for me. I just keep hoping I made the right choice. If the cancer was on both sides... I would have done it. I did not test positive for the brca1 or 2 but since we both had cancer at 41 there's a strong genetic component of some sort.

Any words of wisdom on the radiation? I plan on working through the 30 treatments.

Thanks for listening.
