my oncologist did a bone dexa bone scan and I have osteopena in my left upper neck of my femor and spine L-1 - L4.

Up until 2 years ago I was on fosomax and finally just stopped it after my jaw hurt constantly and developed reflux from the drug.

I purchased the actonel but since researched it and have decided to not take it.

I am of the thinking a lot of drugs are created for big money and so I am using my common sense and hope I am right.  My program will consist of exercise, healthy eating and oral calcium and D supplement.

Anyone here feel the same way?

My Mom has been on fosamax for years and have since lost 10 inches and hurts all the time.  I do not know if fosamax did this but I bet it hurt her more than helped.  She is 87 and still on it.  She is not well at all.

It is certainly possible to strengthen your bones without bisphosphonates. Weight-bearing exercise would have to be part of your program. I lift weights daily, but 2-3 times a week would be better to begin with.
