I posted this topic in the Chemo forum but so far no response.  Maybe someone here.....

I have a family hx of father with colon cancer (died from strokes), so my GI doctor wants me to have colonscopies every 3 years for screening. Prior to this procedure I was sent to a cardio dr for evaluation. Before my breast cancer diagnosis 2006, I already had childhood heart murmur hx and heart dx ran in the family - grandfather moms side.  When dx with breast cancer IDC 2006, I told my onocologist of my concerns for 4 DD AC and 4 Taxol, but since I passed my Mugga scan, I got those treatments due to 1 positive sentinode.  I had my 1st colonsocopy done in 2008 and prior cardio work up was very good regarding nuclear stress test.  Passed with flying colors.

I just had a nuclear stress test done today and failed after 90 seconds when heart rate jumped from 80 to 140.  I am very very upset because my GP never monitors my cardio and although I take Femara my oncologist will not monitor cholesterol or trig levels.  I have to go to GP and specifically ask to have this bloodwork done.

I realize this was a blessing to randomly get this cardio workup prep for my next colonoscopy, but I cannot help feeling these doctors are not looking out for me. (Just like my previous GYN giving me OC pills into my 40's and now I know better....)  I am upset that my prior cardio results from 2008 were so good and now I seem to have some significant issues going on.  I've already made an appt with another cardio group which includes surgeons so I can have a team of doctors who will hopefully monitor me more closely.

This is frustrating too because I've changed my life style in the past 5 years to eat only seafood and poultry (no red meat in 5 years), eat mostly 75% organic and drink only tea mostly green.  Of course, all those supplements for omega 3, Co-Q, Vitamin D, Cucurimin, etc.  Decent weight within normal BMI and daily exercise of walking and more.  Honestly, I'm upset trying to figure out what more can I do????  (besides I am just plain old angry about all these complications at age 54)
