Not sure if this is the board to post or not. Wanted to know if anyone out there has had rads for a lump (they could actually feel), and after all rads were completely, it still feels the same size? Could this lump still be I guess you would say dead from cancer?  Kind of a stupid ??? , but, I have a lump above clavicle, and have had 27 rads (3 more to go), and it doesn't seem smaller. Is this possible, or maybe the rads didn't work? My rad onc. seems to think things are going well, but I do remember him saying in the beginning, "Usually 2-3 weeks into rads, and you will notice a change. Well, hello, we are in the 6th week. SHIT!!!! Any thoughts?

I had chemo to shrink my tumor first and then had it removed before radiation.  It was in my breast so that could be the difference.  The chemo did shrink my tumor.   I did talk to a man in my oncologist office that had some cancer that they were able to shrink down with radiation and then he also did chemo later.  Make sure you ask your radiation oncologist about it.  You can always leave a message or even ask the nurse to check with him/her.
