Hi anyone going through the same things as me? dx triple -ve, 4 out of 15 nodes affected, had immediate lumpectomy with clear margins.  Starting dose dense chemo (Taxotere & Cyclophosphamide) on 11 jul.  I notice most posts have done uni or BMX.  wondering if this is the right sequence?

    Frances,

Take a deep breath.  Most people with TNBC live long and prosper.  I had a lumpectomy, lost 4 of 14 nodes, and am just fine 2 1/2 years later.  I did Taxotere and Cytoxin once a week every three weeks for six rounds and seven weeks of daily radiation.  I worked through all of that, and took a few days here and there when it was too harsh to go in to work.  It was no walk in the park, but it was nothing like as bad as I expected.  You can do this.

Hi Yellowdoglady so so comforting to get your post.  I was reading all the posts and most had mastectomy for TNBC so I was beginning to wonder if I had done the right thing.  My lump was found under under the armpit and hence I did not think of a mastectomy.

FrancesC: There are many of us on here who did lumpectomy, you're not alone! I had 1 SNB affected, so later had a full node dissection. I did dose dense AC follwed by 12 taxol, but there are several ladies on here who did TC too. I think there's even a dedicated thread to it, so you may find out more about what to expect. Chemo is scary to confront, but completely doable!
