Its so difficult when your mom has breast cancer too
Hello girls,
My mom is a bc survivor since 1991. But now, her disease is progressing and she just started a different chemo 3 weeks ago. She is struggling and her quality of life is not good. She is 80 yrs. old.
She has so many other health issues, CHF being a big one. I have a very difficult time going through this with her because of what I just went through in 2009. I think if your mom has bc too and you see the disease progressing (cancer is in her lungs, liver and bones) it really hits home.
I can't help but feel omg, this is going to happen to me too! I cry all the time and can't seem to get a grip on this. It's so hard to watch her dying.
Just wanted to share and vent. I can use some help.
Diane

Diane, I don't know how you feel, but I just had to say that I'm sorry. That must be so hard. Of course you're scared, and of course it's hard to watch your mom's illness progress. Hang in there.

Diane, I'm so sorry for what you are going through I know it is tough. Even though you are watching your mom and you are having the thoughts that this is where you will end up, this is not necessarily the case. You may just as easily live your life with no recurrence or mets and heres hoping that happens. If you live your life based on what you see happening to you mom it would be a life based on fear and that is no life at all. I hope you can live your life and not your moms.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Diane that's really hard for you, I wonder if her hospital has any counsellors that could help with the double load you have as carer and patient yourself. Sending up a prayer for you right now.

thank you to all of you
thank you for all the prayers and thoughts.
i will get through it.

Diane - just wanted to check in and see how you and your Mom are doing. My mother had breast cancer too - in the late 80s. She was quite a bit younger than your mother but back then they did a MX and that was it. She died a few years ago but NOT from breast cancer. Now I have it and so does my sister in law. I am Stage II and she is Stage 0. I cant imagine how tough it is for you to be dealing with this beast yourself and worrying about your mom too. I hope you have family and friends who can help and dont be shy about asking. You sound like such a loving daughter - your mom is lucky to have you. You both are in our prayers. Please let us know how you are doing...coincidentially my name is diane too...
