Swollen stomach

Options

For the last couple days my stomach has been swelling about 3 times its normal size everytime I move more than a few minutes .The only way it goes down is if I lay down in bed.I have been done with chemo for 2 yrs now and had a hysterectomy 2 yrs ago also .I during these last few days I have been fuzzy headed like chemo brain felt and just really tired. I have my biannual exam next week but dont know if I should hold off til then or call Monday ...has anyone else had this problem? Thx for any advice or info it made me kinda nervous.

In addition to what we all fear, it could be a hernia, it could be something you have been eating, it could be gas, it could be something kafluey with the way your digestion is or isnt working. In any event, I think you should call your doctor's office on Monday and ask them if you should come in for a quick visit before your biannual. but start thinking about and writing down - describing what exactly sets it of, what you were doing before hand, what you mean by "moving" ie exercizing, eating then moving/exercizing? or just rolling about? how exactly it feels - sharp pains? dull pains, no pains and where and probably how long it lasts? if it goes down when you lie down, when you stand up again is it always there again and mention feeling fuzzy-headed and tired.

Take care! hope it is gas!

Yes, it happened to me and it was liver mets. But, oddly enough, the doctor doesn't think the mets caused the swelling.

It's not an emergency and can wait until your exam - I waited several weeks and caught it really early - but don't ignore it.

It may very well be nothing.  LIke my doctor said, it's probably middle age spread.  But, had I not pointed it out we wouldn't have found the mets.  So, never ignore a change in your body but don't panic either.
