Side Effects-Neck Area

Anyone have rads near the neck, supraclavicular area? I am on day 19, and today I am getting heartburn, discomfort, and just bla. Seeing rad onc. tomorrow and will ask him. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Hi sharalou,

I did and found I had a bit of trouble with my neck . I would definately talk to you Onc about this and see if there is a problem with your position. I think they were actually radiating me a little too close to the center of my body so my neck, my sternum, swallowing, etc was affected. I could see I was getting red too far over.   After I told them I thought they were doing that, I was adjusted on the table and then those symptoms eased up some. I'm 7 weeks out of rads but I do still have some swelling on that side of my neck, collarbone and I still ache down my sternum so I think the muscles and tissues there are more sensitive than even the breast tissue.

I would definately say something and have them check out your positioning.
