Laura Ziskin died this week at age 61 of ILC. She was the co founder of Stand Up To Cancer. She is a well know film producer. I found her story very interesting. She had the typical problems we all had in finding our ILC. Years of repeat mamos and biopsies that failed her. I found it interesting that she said no one ever mentioned an MRI to her. I am sure that was something that she could have easily afforded and may have saved her life if done earlier in her medical follow ups. When they finally found her ILC it was in 30 lymph nodes. She was very active in cancer support. May she rest in peace.

I read this thanks to a Facebook page called I love Boobies (Fighting Against Breast Cancer).

I don't like the name or some of the links but they put masses of links up so some of them are of interest to me.

I watched some of her you tube interviews.  An amazing woman.

I was sad to hear of her passing and grateful for her work on generating awareness.  I too was misled by mammograms and found my cancer after a fall from water skiing bruised my chest and I had an ultrasound when the bruising swelled.  Below that bruise, there it was!  The surgeon said it was probably there a few years but none of my past mammo's found it.  I was lucky to catch it early.  RIP Laura.
