Hi girls. Here I am again to share a fear.

My mom has "little-soft" pain for about a month now, in her back. First was under her armpit from bc side and we thought that was from radiotherapy. Then the pain went from the other side but not under the armpit but in the scapula exactly in her back, just below the shoulder blade - I don't know the exact work for this bone there :(.

This is not pain just like a heavy thing over there. Some days is there some days is gone. She doesn't remember to lift something heavy.

We have an appointment with her onc next week for 6 months check up. All tests (blood tests, chest CT, liver ultrasound and mammo) are fine. We are going to discuss with him about but we are both scare thinking the "bad" think. We were happy where we took the above results, but this bother is still here and we feel scare a lot.Do you have an explanation or do you think something about this? Thank you all. Hugs!!!

I think we all have little pains here and there that we have no explanation for.  We have to remember we'd have aches and pains whether we had cancer or not....we're all getting older.  She just had all those scans and test too that showed nothing.   I've been told that if the pain comes and goes then that's a good sign.  Cancer doesn't come and go and the pain gets worse and wakes you up at night it's so bad.  Does it go away with heat?  Does it get better with medicine?  I hope you can get some answers at your up coming appointment that ease your fears.

The pain could be from her back or the pain could be lympedema.  What you describe it how my symptoms started.  A pain here or there, a twing pain here or there.  Then I started having issues with my arm.  So if you rule out any major causes for the pain, you might want to check in this direction. Hoping it's nothing... NJ

Is she on anti-hormonal therapy? This could cause back pain

I have back pain under my right scapula and they say it is from the scaring from surgery--over a year ago. I had lymph nodes removed on the right side and the inactivity after surgery and then radiation caused adhesions. This throws everything off. My neck to my hips can sometimes be effected as I compensate for pain in my scapula. I'm working with a lymphodema physical therapist on this and a chiropractor. I was scared also. I called my onc and described the pain(s) and he immediately suggested physical therapy. Hugs to you both. Rachel

Thanks so much for your replies. I feel better when I read them.

Jennyboog: this is not like a pain so no painkiller needed. I don't know if heat can help, I'll tell her to try it.

mrsnband: I've thought it also about lympedema  but this pain is from the other back side of the cancer side.

Maureent813: she is taking Femara but I have read from other ladies here experiences that femara can gives aches in lower back or in joints. Below the scapula area isn't common (???).

Do you think that when we tell to onc this pain he will advice for extra scan? This is going to be a nightmare again... :(((
