mass found un lung

Yesterday I went to ER because I was having some infrequent chest pains.  I started Tamoxifen on Sunday and that is when these pains began.  I have completed chemo and radiation but I am still on herceptin, which can be danaging to my heart so I wanted to get checked out.

Had a cat scan of chest and dr came in to tell me they saw a mass in my lung.  I asked if it was possible that it was remaining fluid from my lattissimus dorsi reconstruction because  my radiation oncologist made the same mistake a couple months back.  He wasn't sure.

I am not trying to downplay this at all, but Isn't it weird that they did not mark my breast where my expander is, or take into account that it has only been 8 weeks since I finished radiation?  My rad onc told me I could not have another pet scan until August because things would show up that were just remnants of the treatments.

Could this just be scarring?  I have no shortness of breath, I am not coughing, no pain in my chest when I breathe, etc.  Has this happened to anyone before?

I see my new oncologist on Friday.

Also wanted to add that I just had a bloodworkup done at my last herceptin 3 weeks ago and nothing came up.  Being that I just finished chemo in feb, isn't it early to have cancer spread?

It could be a number of things.  I have a spot on my lung also and even one on my liver, both are to small to biopsy and didn't light up on my last PET so, right now it's a wait and see.  My spot on my lung was found when I had a CT done at the ER in Dec., then the PET in Feb. showed nothing.  It's a terrible postion we're all in and I think we all have spots and cysts thingy's that are found since  we're being scaned more than the average person.  Easier said than done but try not to worry until you have a definite answer and let us know how things go.
