Sore hand
Has anyone else had a sore spot on their hand.I was wearing a swell spot in my glove but I have to wear Komprex 11 instead as it hurt so much. My le needs pressure and I have always had to wear something in my glove to keep the swelling down. It works good but this is a stuborne spot. Any suggestions? I am stage 2 and this is the first time I have swelled again as I was moving and over did it. le hugs jinky

Jinky, I don't know the answer but I'm bumping this so maybe someone who does will see it.
Best of luck.

Jinky, where is the sore spot?
When I first got LE in my hand, the back of my hand was hard, white and hurt.It hurt to make a fist.
I'm moving now, and am trying hard not to over do it.

Dear Kira, It is right in the back of my hand in the middle. I finally got my hand down today by wrapping for 3 days straight. When it gets 2 sore I take of the bandaging for a hour to give myself a break. ( 3 times today). I will keep wrapping for another 11 days and this will give me 2 weeks steady. It still is sore but not as bad as it was.
Kira if I had to do it over I would wrap while I was packing. I got 2 confident and had no warning it was going to swell. Also had a lot of pain in my le arm which is gone now.
Live and learn eh!. Thanks le hugs jinky

Jinky, I wrap every night--and I could easily see myself getting too confident, or caught up in the pressure of the move and I broke my LE hand in October, and have only just gotten it back to almost where it was: I wrap much earlier in the evening now, if we're home--a couple of summers ago, I grabbed a heavy mattress, and the back of my hand swelled up for weeks.
LIve and learn is right.
Hugs to you.

Kira do you wrap all your arm and hand at night or only your hand? Praying you don't swell up again.le hugs jinky

Jinky: I wrap the whole arm--I had seen a therapist who devised a wrap just to the elbow, but then I developed a pocket above the elbow, so I've wrapped the whole arm ever since. On the hand and forearm, I have a bunch of gray foam cutouts that I use.
When I was in my cast for 6 weeks, and couldn't wrap, the cast ran from knuckles to mid-forearm and nothing swelled above it, but it sure trapped fluid at the knuckles: I would finger wrap at night.
I always wonder about wrapping all the way up, but for now, I do it.

Yes i fully wrap to as I was told that way works best. My, that must have been hard on you when you were in a cast. Hang in there until this move gets over with. le hugs jinky
