Just got from the library a book called "From Zero to Mastectomy: What I Learned and You Need to Know About Stage 0 Breast Cancer" by Jackie Fox.

If only I had this book at the beginning of my journey.  Have only read the first few chapters, however, everything there is right on.

Thanks for this... I will be ordering it and reading it soon!  And like you I wish there had been a book on how to address Stage O BC when I was going through it!!!  Hey my aunt lives in Mississauga!  It a beautiful part of Toronto (my place of birth and early childhood - wonderful memories!)..  Best, Deirdre

Your welcome.  The more I read it, the more it parallels my journey with a few minor exceptions.

Mississauga is really a city on it's own. We are part of the GTA, but don't let Hazel hear you say we are part of Toronto. LOL

<chuckle>  well maria I haven't been a part of Toronto (I'm in Arizona these days) for years so memories of geography and boundaries are certainly going to be different than the current residents of Mississauga as well as Toronto... I love and miss Canada so I tend to put an incredibly positive spin on anything Canadian... LOL...  Take care!

Maria - just got my copy and am really enjoying it (and this is after the fact for me).  It would be a great info book for someone who is just discovering that they have DCIS.. thanks again - this is going in my "reference" shelf.. I hope no one else ever needs it but if they do I will have it - Thanks again!  Deirdre

I am bumping this because I bought this book solely because I found this thread and this book IS AWESOME

It is so on-the-mark about what we go thru, I could relate to most of it really closely. I completely and totally recommend it.

This is a book that tells it like it is with a sense of humour.  Thanks for letting us know about it....I loved the morphine and telephone call bit.
