    update to my first post

I found out that my osteo was caused from a problem with my kidneys drawing out too much calcium. It is called hypercalciuria.  My parathyroid and D levels were good.  This condition is associated with kidney stones and osteo and found in 5-10% of healthy people and can be genetic. I am being treated with a diuretic.

So I take back what I said about the exercise not helping to keep my bones strong.  Just think how bad my bones could have been if I had not been exercising.

What a bummer that the calcium was going into making ginormous kidney stones as opposed to strong bones.  Glad you are on the mend Linda.  YIKES!!! - Claire
