Two years today

Today marks 2 years since diagnosis. My family don't talk about cancer with me so the date is not being marked in any special way. I'm not sure that I want to any way. It seems like a bittersweet date when I consider the 2 ladies who started chemo threads I posted on - July and August, 2009. (Lisa died a few weeks ago and Jenn is now stage IV) At first I started posting on the July thread and then it ended up being right at the end of July when I started chemo so decided to post on the August thread too. Although as stage IIIc and TN I am pleased to reach 2 years, it still is always "so far, so good." And who knows what's next?

the bittersweet feeling is normal, i think...we look around and feel such gratitude for our lives, but sorrow for those suffering or gone.

My two year mark is coming up on June 15th... I am so happy to have made it this far but I gotta admit, I am really extra worried about "it" coming back these days... I have hadback aches and joint pain from the AI and Lupron and I am just worrying over every little thing. Maybe once this 2 year milestone comes and goes, I will be able to settle back down.

Gill- YES!!! Celebrating with you!!!  So many in our families think our battle is over now. They don't realize that we will always live on the edge with this disease. We look "normal" again, so all must be well, right????  Wishing you many, many more years, Gill. It's a joy to be a fellow "July Jedi".

 It is funny though to think about celebrationg something like this.  In some ways it is such a significant celebration but not one any of us anticipated celebratiing.

2 years is a BIG deal with your tumor type, so celebrate! In the " relative"  early days we are still so fragile, but take heart it gets easier with each passing year.
