Mom just told me today...

I must have been receiving some sort of psychic "vibe" or something, because I felt very compelled to call this morning.  My mother had a lumpectomy last week...up until now, we thought it was recurring mastitis or something similar.  She's been having trouble for a few years now with a "breast infection" that would come and go.  Well, this time, it didn't go away. 

I'm relieved it's out of her.  She says that she feels worlds better than she did before, which is promising.  However, I can't keep my nagging inner pessimist at bay.  Of course, I'm scared like hell it's IBC...however, it was a mass that they removed, and from what I understand, IBC doesn't organize that way usually.  Can anyone confirm that?

 I don't know...my mother seems so positive, but then again, she does that.  She puts on a facade for people so they don't worry.  I really want to belive what she says, but I can't seem to let myself.

We'll know more on Thursday, as she visits the specialist then.  I think once we get a clearer picture, some of the anxiety will lessen.  Please send good energy and prayers our way, and I will do the same for you all!  xoxo

So sorry to hear about your mom but it sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders and seems to be dealing with the situation well.  The initial surgeries, tests and waiting are always the hardest part.  Once your mom has a treatment plan in place you both will be able to put your energy and efforts towards getting her well again.  Let us know what the specialist say on Thursday.  Take good care of your mom and remember to take care of yourself as well.
