SOB Scan/lung mets etc question

Options

Hi Girls

I've had an ongoing problem with chest pain BC side when I yawn or take certain deep breaths since Xmas when I had same side pneumonia and pleurisy (treated successfully with antibiotics).  I have been yawning excessively for some 4 months now.

Lately, (2 months +)  I have had sporadic SOB  - sometimes going upstairs, sometimes (more often) bending over or on activity like getting dressed or emptying the DW etc sometimes bad enough to have to take my asthma reliever for relief. I also have the very occasional dry cough.

I've had every blood test under the sun which are fine, 2 x clear normal regular chest Xrays, chest and heart sound fine, peak flow and symptoms not indicative of my asthma, examination not indicative of costochodritis.  GP has now ordered Spirometry.

.  It is 3 years since I had radiotherapy...could the chest pain be pneumonitis?  Would it show ona regular chest Xray?

.  Has your lung mets SOB been like this?  Surely if I did have a lung mets, by the time it would present with SOB, it would be big enough to show on a chest XRay?

.  Should I also be thinking of another chest wall recurrence causing the pain?

Obviously I'm at high risk for mets, but I can't keep going back to my Onc every time I have a symptom cos I'd be camping out there!

Thanks in anticipation of any candid help/advice

Nikki

Nichola, I have bone mets but NOT lung mets. I do have mild asthma (since years before bc) and the frequency of needing my inhaler has definitely increased since rads (finished Aug 09) though the SOB caused by the asthma is not worse. All the scans I've had since rads hace shown lung fibrosis that is attributed to the rads.

    Hope this helps.
