high potassium level

Had a treatment of herceptin yesterday and after my routine blood test was told that my potassium level was too high, there seems to be no reason for it however I had to drink a horrible tasting potion that is suppose to eliminate the high levels and must have my blood re-checked next week.  Does anyone know what this means and what if anything I should be looking out for?  Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks
