I agree with Mazy1959.... luckily my employer did not even ask me to fill out anything... I just sent them a copy of my "you have cancer" diagnosis off my lab results and told them I needed to take off. I did have to get a release to return to work from my onc though. I would look for another dr. I know some people can still work full time while going through treatment. I was not one of those and was glad to have the time off work to do treatment and heal up. Good luck to you.

Wow - that is odd. I didn't want the FMLA because I felt I could (and for the most part have) make it through all this missing as little work as possible and working as hard as I could when I am there, but it is federal law that my employer said they have to have the fmla paperwork. (my employer/bosses are greaet, they just explained that it is mandatory to go under fmla in these circumstances). My Onc's office has been fantastic about filling out the paperwork, as was my surgeon and RO.

I hope you can get more info and approach them again. They msut deal with this every day, so I am puzzled why they will not do it. Best of luck with this!

Are you at it again?  I have never seen anyone trumpet their own horn the way you do.  I have a song for you...

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble

when you're perfect in every way

I can't wait to look in the mirror

I get better looking each day

To know me is to love me

I must be a heck of a gal

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble

But I'm doing the best that I can.

    My advice.......TRY HARDER.

my company filled out the forms- I didn't want it- but in retrospect-glad I did- it is intermittent- meaning I have three months spread out over a year. Everyone heals differently. Some it is harder, some, apparently sail through. I rushed back too quick after my mastecomy=kicked my butt down the road with exhaustion. Find a doc to fill out your paperwork-better to have it if you need it. Ask for intermittent leave- you tend to have things crop up that require you to take time off and it is not all at once.
