question for ovarian cancer friend

    Tonight I had a friend who just finished chemo for ovarian cancer ask me a question about some side effects about her chemo. In particular she was asking me if I was cold a lot. I explained to her that my coldness was in response to the taxol neurophaty that I was left with and she went on to tell me that she had the taxol too and agreed that sounded a lot like what she was experiencing, Anyway my question is does anyone know of a web group like ours for woman that have experienced ovarian cancer? I looked for some place like this for her to share her experiences and find out what other women experienced as a result of thier treatments etc. but could not find anything for her. I have been so grateful for the information I have received from everyone here and it seems a shame that she could not have the same support I have so depended on to answer my questions. Would appreciate it if anyone knows....

    Hi Giddyup:

    My friend and co-teacher was just diagnosed with ovarian ca and is having surgery tomorrow. I've been searching the web for info and found a site: www.inspire.com. It's the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. It does have a discussion board, but not as well-organized as this one. It might be worth checking out. Good luck to your friend--mine doesn't know what the next step will be after surgery.

    Giddyup, the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance has a support community board called "Inspire" -- at this link:

    I don't know much about it, but it looks to be set up similarly to BCO, and has recent posts.  I hope it will be of help to your friend.

    tell her to join-----------Bc and ovarian cancer have much in common-------------------from an emotional, intellectaual, personal, everything view come and find support . Answers re: ovarian and uterine cancer maybe not , But support YES
