Anyone done Taxol first then AC?

Hi! this is my 1st post here. i have appreciated reading all the information and stories here over the last days.
you can see my breast cancer info below i think.
my doc is having me to 12 weekly taxol treatments followed by FIFTEEN weekly AC treatments. i am taking an experimental drug that is not chemo along with the taxol, too.
then I will have surgery. and then radiation with the possibility of more chemo.
this plan is all contingent on finding no distant mets this week during all the flurry of scans and such.
anyone had this? anyone know anything about this? I spend some time tonight doing a search and didn't see much...
i am 48, have 2 kids, am separated from my husband although we are friends still, and have just started a business. i homeschool my teenage daughter.
thanks in advance for any replies

I am doing chemo before surgery too. I finished 12 weekly taxol with carbo and avastin and am now doing adriamycin and cytoxin every three weeks. It was supposed to be every 2 weeks, but I have been hospitalized several times due to low blood counts. I believe there has been alot of research on the benefits of doing taxol first. I am triple negative and my oncologist agrees that doing taxol first would be the best treatment plan for me. The most important thing is that your oncologist designs the best plan for you based on your individual situation. We are all different with many different factors concerning our cancers and how we will respond to treatments. Breast cancer isn't one size fits all so it's important that our treatment is tailored for us. There is so much useful information on these boards and I have been thankful for the support and knowledge I have gained here. And remember to feel free to ask questions if you need to. There are some great women here who have been through it all and are always wiling to help. Never be afraid to vent either. We all have those days! There are also places here to just relax with some humor. I wish you the best through your treatment and beyond!!

Hi
I my cocktail was 4 taxol then 4 ac. Mine was done that way because there is a shortage of the ac drugs here in nc. I will be having a bi mastectmy in June and then chemo. Good luck to you. -
I am doing Taxol first (12 weeks) and then AC. I did my first Taxol treatment on Monday. I'm in the iSpy research study, and taxol first is the protocol.

I was on a trial using Taxol and Sutent for the first 12 weeks followed by AC for 15 weeks. The lead trial onc was Dr. Specht. Feel free to PM me.
