wasted trip to the oncologist

My oncologist is supposed to be one of the best in Houston yet when I went for my appointment yesterday she had none of the relevant information.  I was under the assumption that at this appointment we would decide on the course of treatment post lumpectomy.  The doctor did not have the pathology report so she had to get her office staff to call around and find it.  Then she found out she did not have the Oncotype results and in fact the Oncotype test had never been done.  The only thing I found out was that my bone scan was negative (I already knew that) except for my bad knees and feet.  I also already knew that my CT scan showed that I have gallstones, a fatty liver and a nodule on my thyroid.  So I have to wait another 2 weeks or possibly more the get the results of the Oncotype so I will know if I need chemo or radiation.  Meanwhile I have to cancel my radiation simulation scheduled for next Monday until I find out.  I just wanted to scream at everyone!  If I don't get started on radiation before the end of the this month there is no way that I'll make our trip to Maine in July.  My husband still insists that even if I need chemo we're still going on that trip.  I don't know if he's saying that just to have something to say or if he really thinks I'll be able to make the trip.  The last straw was when the nurse said that my blood pressure was high.  I just to laugh at that!  Did she really think it would be normal considering what was going on?  Thanks for letting me rant.

I think that when we have appointments, and the doc's office isn't prepared, we shouldn't have to pay!  As a matter of fact, they should pay us.  A friend of mine just told me about her latest onc appointment (our onc doc left the practice so we both got the same new one) and when she got to the appointment, he just introduced himself and said come back in 6 months. NOTHING else. No blood work. No going over treatment plans. I am scheduled with this same doc in June and I've decided I'm calling his nurse to find out what I'm going for....if it's a meet and greet only, he won't be meeting me.
